My new project is called Mutation #1, it is a sculpture stemming from digital creative and manufacturing processes and realized via 3D printing. It is the eruption of a 3D wireframe into reality. It is also an "Ikea hack", its size enabling perfect insertion into the famous Expedit bookcase. Once inserted, the sculpture customizes the bookcase by giving it a futuristic look.

Mon nouveau projet s'appelle Mutation #1, il s'agit d' une sculpture issue d'un procédé de création et de fabrication numériques, obtenue par impression 3D. C'est véritablement l'irruption d'un élément 3D filaire dans la réalité. Il s'agit aussi d'un "Ikea hack", sa taille lui permettant de s'intégrer parfaitement dans la célèbre étagère Expedit. Une fois insérée, la sculpture customise l'étagère en lui donnant un look futuriste.

Voici une variation sur ma série "dégénérescence".
J'ai créé trois petits cubes de trois centimètres sur trois.
Sur chacune des faces : un côté de l'objet (vue orthographique).
Chaque cube représente un état différent de dégénérescence.

Nostalgia For Nature

Je travaille actuellement sur mon prochain court métrage "Nostalgia For Nature".
Je suis allé en forêt pendant deux jours pour faire des photos qui me serviront de références.

Il s'agit d'un film sensoriel en images de synthèse qui nous plonge dans l'esprit d'un personnage qui se souvient du lien intime qu'il avait avec la nature.
Le film ne proposera pas un vision idyllique de la nature mais plutôt une vision sombre, parfois inquiétante, mais par ailleurs toujours fascinante et belle... si tant est que l'on puisse trouver une larve ou de la pourriture belles.
Le film se veut aussi une réflexion sur les images de synthèse et est hanté par un texte de Lucrèce sur le simulacre :
"De tous les objets il existe ce que nous appelons les simulacres, sortes de membranes légères détachées de la surface des corps, et qui voltigent en tous sens parmi les airs"
...
Mon but avec ce film est de montrer l'intérieur des objets 3D.

Bubble tea is from Taiwan and it is a parfumed tea with tapioca.

Opéra Bastille. Ballet de Preljocaj, mis en scène par Claude Lévêque.

Des "hommes Daft Punk" avec une boule géante qui crache de la fumée = kiff.

Le spectacle est inégal mais certains moments méritent à eux seuls d'aller le voir.
Mon tableau préféré : des "hommes Daft Punk" trainent/portent des "femmes cadavres".
Une utilisation passionnante (et inhabituelle en danse) de la gravité, du poids des corps.

The Ghost-Writer

I had the opportunity to work at "Def2shoot" on "The Ghost-writer", the feature film of Roman Polanski.
The film was shot in a green screen studio. All set, the beach is computer graphic. My goal was to do an artistic research, to define the geography of the space and to create a numeric layout
that looks very close to the final result.

J'ai eu la chance de travailler chez "Def2shoot" sur le film de Roman Polanski "the ghost-writer".
Le film a été tourné en studio sur fond vert. Tout le décor, la plage est créée en image de synthèse. Mon but était de faire une recherche artistique, de définir la géographie de l'espace et créer une maquette numérique la plus proche possible du résultat final.

Here is a test of stereolithography sculpture for my project "Boolean Nature".

In the close-up we can see all the layers. The precision is not perfect but I like that :

The pitch of this personal project is :
"A sculpture completes the image by representing the missing part.
The sum of the image and the sculpture forms the landscape in its entirety."

These two videos that I directed has been done to be seen in the "Videobox", an installation initiated by Thomas Israël and Jacques Urbanska.
This installation is a box of 1 m by 2 m, the lid is a projection screen. The viewer is alone, lying down and watching the screen above him (less than a meter). The sound system surrounds the viewer.
"Videobox" will be presented at various festivals.

Ces deux vidéos que j'ai réalisées sont faites pour être vues dans la "Videobox", une installation initiée par Thomas Israël and Jacques Urbanska.
Cette installation est une boîte de 1 m sur 2 m dont le couvercle est un écran de projection. Le spectateur est seul, couché et regarde donc l’écran qui est au-dessus de lui (à moins d’un mètre).

L'enfer

J'ai eu la chance d'assister hier à la projection du documentaire de Serge Bromberg sur L'Enfer, le film inachevé d'Henri-Georges Clouzot avec Romy Schneider et Serge Reggiani. Ce documentaire passionnant réussit à mêler plusieurs narrations, celle du film lui-même, parfois complétée par de courtes scénettes interprétées par Bérénice Béjo et Jacques Gamblin, mais aussi celle du tournage. Récit de l'échec d'un film maudit doté d'un budget illimité, d'une liberté totale et que son auteur envisageait comme son chef-d'œuvre.

Sortie le 11 novembre.
